Gilmore Girls Revival: A Year in the Life

It’s been sixteen years since the first episode of Gilmore Girls aired on television in 2000. Just a month ago on November 25, the Gilmore Girls revival, A Year in the Life, came on to Netflix. This witty humored Emmy Award-winning TV show with its pop culture references that pop up every conversation kept fans waiting in excitement for this new revival to arrive. Although I have recently just finished seven seasons of Gilmore Girls, I personally am excited to see the Gilmore back on Netflix.

In 2004, Gilmore Girls won its own Emmy Award for makeup and was placed number 32 on Entertainment Weekly’s New TV Classics Gilmore Girls.

The show revolves around 32-year-old Lorelai Gilmore (portrayed by Lauren Graham) and her sixteen daughter, Rory Gilmore (played by Alexis Bledel) and is set in a small town called Stars Hollow in Connecticut. The two Gilmore girls live in more of a best-friend and sister relationship than a mother-daughter relationship, and the two girls stick side by side and are always there for each other. This TV drama involves romance and relationships, school and education, friends, families, and life lessons. In the revival, the two girls’ lives continue as we find out what they have been up to since the season finale in 2007. Many recurring characters, guest stars, and townspeople return to this new revival, which makes it even more exciting to fans of Gilmore Girls. This TV mini-series is given a high rating on 8.3/10 on IMDB.

Currently, there are four 90 minute episodes streaming on Netflix for fans to watch, each episode for each season of a year–Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Be sure to watch Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, or if you have not seen the original show, be sure to follow Lorelai and Rory through seven seasons on Netflix!
