Hilary 2.0

The year has finally come that the United States of America could possibly have its first female president.  In early April 2015, Hillary Clinton publicly announced that she will be running for president in the upcoming 2016 election.  While announcing her decision to run for president she said, “Americans need a champion, and I want to be that champion… So I am hitting the road to earn your vote, because it is your time and I hope you will join me on this journey.”

I believe that if elected, Hillary Clinton would be a great president.  Having a female president will not only encourage equal rights and equal pay but also show that Americans are moving forward into something great.  Hillary Clinton is looking to change America into a country where citizens will be able to enjoy equal rights, a strong middle class and an equal distribution of wealth.

Clinton will be a great president if elected, because she has great leadership experience.  From 1993-2001, Clinton was the First Lady while her husband, (former President Bill Clinton) was in office.  The White House website (WhiteHouse.gov) said, “In 1993 when the President [Bill Clinton] asked her [Hillary Clinton] to chair the Task Force on National Health Care Reform, she continued to be a leading advocate for expanding health insurance coverage, ensuring children are properly immunized and raising public awareness of health issues.”  From 2001-2009, she went on to become the first First Lady to also become a Senator, representing New York.  From 2009-2013, she went on to be President Obama’s appointed Secretary of State, where she fought for women’s rights and managed external affairs.

In 2008, Clinton ran for president but lost the Democratic nomination to President Obama.  But it is soon 2016, and I believe that America is ready for Clinton.  I believe she has enough experience to fix our country’s current economic state, to provide people with well-deserved equal rights, and to make life more enjoyable.

As I read more about the other Democratic candidates, I believed even more that she is the most capable person to be America’s next president.  In a New York Times article, “Democrats See No Choice but Hillary Clinton in 2016”, Sarah Kovner, a Democratic donor and fundraiser said, “There is no one else- she is the whole plan.  Clinton is by far the most experienced and qualified person we could possibly nominate.  Not even on the horizon but on the far horizon.”  Clinton is prepared to be the leader of this great nation and is America’s best option as a leader.  The former First Lady seems to have great support from American citizens who believe she will make a change and be a great president. So if you can vote, vote for Hillary!
