Handel’s

Handel’s is an ice cream chain specializing in homemade ice cream. Handel’s started off from serving ice cream at a gas station in Ohio to a successful chain with locations from the East to the West Coast such as in Ohio, California, Florida, Indiana, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. There are over 100 flavors of ice cream and yogurt here at Handel’s. Sophomore Joy Lee says “although I have been there a couple of times, I always have the best experience. I guess I could say that the ice cream is very smooth. Also there are so many flavors that I really enjoy. I would totally recommend it. 11/10 for this place!”

Snow Zone

Location: 1408 S Pacific Coast Hwy, Redondo Beach, CA

Snow Zone sells shaved snow, Vietnamese snacks, and boba drinks. The most commonly eaten dessert here is the homemade shaved snow. I personally enjoyed the macaron ice cream here at Snow Zone.

Creamistry

Location: 24329 Crenshaw Blvd g, Torrance, CA

Creamistry features in liquid nitrogen made ice cream and is customized and handcrafted. Here at Creamistry are over 70 flavors and toppings to choose from. This technology comes at a price-about $6 for the smallest size. However, the ice cream is creamier and has a thicker texture than your usual ice cream.

Ritas

Location: 403 Pacific Coast Hwy #101, Redondo Beach, CA

Rita’s is another chain that specializes in Italian ice and frozen custard treats. On the menu are custard cookie sandwiches, frozen custard cakes, frozen drinks, blendini, Misto, Gelati sundaes, frozen custards, and Italian ice. The number one selling dessert here is the Gelati.

Wanna Chill?

Location: 800 S Pacific Coast Hwy, Redondo Beach, CA

If you’re missing Hawaii’s famous shaved ice, you’ve come to the right spot. Wanna Chill is a Hawaiian-inspired shop that sells shaved ice. To order, you start with a base. Popular base choices include ice cream, mochi, or boba poppers. After this, ice is added to the cup. Lastly, up to three syrup flavors are added to this dessert.
