Lady Gaga took a leap of faith during her memorable halftime performance at the 2017 super bowl. Many people wondered if she was going to be political during her performance given her support of Hillary Clinton and the fact she protested after Trump won the election. Lady Gaga was not overtly political, but of course did not forget to be patriotic.

She started off by singing “God Bless America” and “This Land Is Your Land” on the stadium’s roof, a Woody Guthrie tune which is very common in many of the protests that have taken place after President Donald Trump took office. In the background red and blue drones flew threw the sky, forming an American flag while she sang.  Then she jumped down from the roof to perform a medley of her most popular hits. Her songs included “Poker Face”, “Born this way”, “Telephone”, “Just Dance”, and “Bad Romance.” Lady Gaga slows down the show a little playing “A Million Reasons” on her piano.

Despite all the expectations everyone had for her performance, Lady Gaga was simply just being herself through the whole show. Surprisingly there weren’t as many crazy outfit changes we all expected from her but the only disappointment was Beyonce not showing up during their song “Telephone.” A performance full of fireworks, glitter, and drones Lady Gaga ended her halftime show with a mic drop.
