Deciding what show to watch on Netflix can be difficult. There are so many choices and so little time. To make your life easier here are some shows to help you narrow down your options.

WORTH A LAUGH

FRIENDS: This one is an obvious statement for its hilarious jokes and high ratings. The show surrounds a group of friends in their early twenties living in the big apple. The show is known for its comedic aspects with famous actors and actresses. “It kept me up all night laughing!” says PVHS freshman Amanda Gilligan. With crazy gags such as a runaway bride and giant armadillo you know you’ll never get bored.

Parks and Recreation: Thanks to its funny female lead, Amy Poehler, this show will have you non-stop laughing. This mockumentary-style show follows a group of government workers in the little, unknown town of Pawnee. Each episode delves into the lives of the not-so-important important Parks and Recreation department. Freshman Haley Pascal says “Parks and Rec is the best show ever! It’s super funny and always makes me laugh.” Cult followers of the show will never forget such lines as “Treat yo’ self”.

The Office: This U.S adaptation of a hit series on BBC documents the lives of office employees that work for the paper company Dunder Mifflin. This show is filled with unforgettable characters and many awkward scenarios that will have you up till the early hours of the day.

ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT

The Vampire Diaries: This ongoing show focuses on the life of two vampire brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore, and their not-so-normal lives. Heading back to the town of Mystic Falls, Stefan, a heartbroken, selfless vampire, falls head over heels in love with the kind-hearted Elena Gilbert. Damon, a dangerous and greedy vampire, decides to get even with his brother by stealing his girl. Despite the cheesy name, this show will have you falling, just like Stefan, head over heels in love with it.

The 100: After a nuclear war that resulted in a demolished Earth, the crew of a large space ship sends 100 teenagers to see if their home is habitable once again. These teenagers try to survive on Earth all while fighting a war they didn’t even know they started. Based off the best-selling book, this series will have you wanting more and more.

The Emmy-winning show explores twisted horrors, supernatural fears, and plays upon the world’s unsettling capacity for evil. Prepare to be enchanted by this show’s spell from episode one.

IN A

DIFFERENT WORLD

Doctor Who: Known for being the longest-running science fiction show in history, this nine-season long series centers itself on a 2,000 year-old, time-travelling alien, his human companion, and their job to save the world over and over again. Rarely seen without his blue telephone box, the Doctor and his iconic companion face monsters and creatures that have never surfaced our minds before while traveling through all of time and space. This show will have you laughing and crying all while keeping you excited for more. I can say from personal experience, this show will have you hooked.

Sherlock: Set in modern-day London, the show follows the insensitive detective genius Sherlock Holmes and his loyal partner/best friend Doctor John Watson. With incredible actors Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman, each 90-minute episode will leave you hanging and with a hunger to know what’s going to happen next. From taming the hounds of Baskerville, to stopping the villainous James Moriarty, follow the famous adventures of Sherlock Holmes. However be prepared for lots and lots of waiting for the next season, and yes, unfortunately, there are only three episodes per season.

Once Upon a Time: Despite its name, this show is way more complex than your stereotypical princess and evil queen. The show revolves around a woman by the name of Emma Swan and her newly discovered son Henry. Henry takes her to the town of Storybrooke where many fairytale characters live with no clue of their other life. “Once Upon a Time is the best show ever. I watch it every day.” says sophomore Francesca Houlbrooke. With twists and turns around every corner, this show will have you begging for more.
