Every December, people ask the same question. Should you buy real or fake Christmas trees?
The debate resurfaces every December, but the answer this year is clear. Real Christmas trees offer a better smell, enforce traditions, and are more eco-friendly.
First of all the smell, fake trees can try as hard as they want but they will never smell like fresh pine. Companies can add pine scented sprays, candles, wax melts, air fresheners, but none of it comes close to that fresh, crisp smell of a real tree.
There’s something magical about walking into your house and instantly getting hit with that fresh pine scent.
A fake tree only smells like plastic and attic dust.
Second, the tradition. Picking out a real tree is a whole experience. Wandering around Christmas tree farms with your family and picking out a tree will create memories you will remember for the rest of your life.
The same can’t be said about grabbing a box from the store.
Some people say real trees are bad for the environment, but they’re actually grown on farms just like regular crops.
New trees are planted every year to replace the old tress. Also, when the season is over, real trees can even be recycled into mulch, which is way better than tossing a fake tree into a landfill.
The real versus fake debate happens every December but it really shouldn’t.
Real Christmas trees give you the smell, the memories, and are better for our planet. Fake trees just can’t compete.
