Club Rush Recap

Palos Verdes High school has had a great start to a new school year. Recently, they held an annual event known as Club Rush. This event is known to be held in Sea King park where Club presidents come out with posters and decorations to help advertise their club for the year for students to join. There were many clubs that were offered this year from community service based on fun activity filled ones too!

When asking students what some of their highlights of the event were, freshman Caroline Collins said that she was excited to try the Pokemon Club. “I’m excited to be a part if the Pokemon club because it’s nice to be it’s nice to be apart of a club where everyone likes the same thing even if other people say “it’s for kids” or “it’s really nerdy.” With this club being added this current school year, we are sure to hear more about the events they will be having this school year.

Clubs at PV high range from food fundraising clubs, and charity events, to clubs that simply…. eat! One, in particular, includes the animal awareness association. Sophomore Tina Li told me about this charitable club. “Our main purposes include spreading awareness towards endangered land and sea animals and helping these animals through volunteer work.” The animal awareness association also has guests speakers come and talk to club members about the importance of endangered animals, as well as holding fundraising events in order to raise money to donate to organizations.

Another club that stands out is the Donut Club. The ultimate goal of this club is to attract donut lovers to help raise money that goes towards organizations that help homeless teens. They do this by selling donuts at PV high school events. This is a great and community oriented class that is sure to have everyone participating in the events during this year.

All of these clubs are great because they encourage students to help their community and to try something different with being student-run. Plus with the added reward of getting to throw pies at the teachers during the event, sure made everything better! PV high school looks forward to a very charitable year!
