Many people favorite the cold, but with California’s history with the weather they can never know what to expect. For the ones who love winter, it seems it will be this winter that will make them satisfied.

For the past few weeks, Northern California was looking wet and gloomy due to the fog and rain and will continue looking like that this January according to the weather forecast. It will be this winter California will get the rain it desperately needs, and for the girls to wear their winter sweaters they never get to wear.

Kyuri Kim, a junior at Palos Verdes High says “Last year, I bought so many clothes I wanted to wear in the winter but didn’t get to wear them once.” With the weather not as cold as expected, Kim was disappointed she couldn’t wear a number of the clothes she bought. She additionally stated she is “so excited for this year’s winter” as she will wear all of the clothes she bought in 2015.

Not only could a person be sad about not being able to wear their winter sweaters, but the cold could affect his/her emotions. From time to time, the gloomy weather can make someone feel sad, such as Ellie Darcey-Alden, a junior at Palos Verdes High. Darcey-Alden says “the cold weather sometimes can take its toll where [she] would want the sun, but most of the time it never makes [her] sad,” and that she “loves it”.

This winter reached the expectations for the people who love the cold. Kim said “hearing the sound of the rain falling and hitting the trees and ground” made her very satisfied. Darcey-Alden stated, “[she hopes] every winter will be like this one”. This winter was a good one after all.
